Colquitt Funeral Home was established in 1941 by H. Roy and Lucille McKinstry, Sr. They operated the funeral home and ambulance service for Colquitt and Miller County until 1949 when their son, H. Roy McKinstry, Jr. returned from the Navy to help run the family business. Roy (Porky) McKinstry, Jr. married Dorothy Oldham in 1949. Roy McKinstry, Sr., Lucille McKinstry, Roy McKinstry, Jr. and Dorothy McKinstry were all liscensed funeral directors and operated the funeral home together for nearly 50 years. Danny Sheffield, licensed funeral director and embalmer, began working at Colquitt Funeral Home in 1983 and purchased the funeral home business from the McKinstry family in 1990. In1991, he built a new funeral home and chapel at 108 Grow Street and continues to operate as a family owned business today. The owner and staff of Colquitt Funeral Home will always cherish the memory of the lives of H. R. (Mack) McKinstry, Sr., Lucille McKinstry, H. R. (Porky) McKinstry, Jr., and Dorothy McKinstry .

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Weaver Walker of Colquitt died Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Coliseum Northside Hospital in Macon, GA. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Colquitt First Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Kent Barwick and Rev. Jay Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Rawls Cemetery with Rodney Bryan, John Edward Wells, Kevin Hall, Felix Tabb, Joe Sheffield, Donald Brooks, Danny Helms, and Paul Smith serving as active pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers will be the members of Colquitt First Baptist Church's T.E.L. Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 6:00-8:00 PM at John Weaver's home.
Mrs. Walker was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church in Macon and a former member of Colquitt First Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher with the Colquitt County School System.
She is survived by one son, John (Susan) Weaver of Colquitt, GA; three daughters, Carol (Ed) Soto, Anne Weaver, and Lyn Weaver all of Macon, GA; four grandchildren, Trey (Lesley) Grimes, Amy (Andy) Purdy, Ashley Weaver, and Haley Weaver; four great grandchildren, Ali Purdy, Andrew Purdy, Annalyn Purdy, and Charles Grimes; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mary was preceded in death by the father of her children, Ralph Weaver; husband, Elvin Walker; one daughter, Kaye Weaver; and two sisters, Nancy Suber and Patricia Wilkin.

Mrs. Faircloth was a Pulp Operator at Georgia Pacific and a member of Eldorendo Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas R. Mr. Cleve "Rudy" Kelley of Baker County died Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Miller Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 24, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Hoyt Donley and Rev. Jimmy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Kelley Cemetery with his nephews serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be Thursday, July 24, 2014, from 2:00-3:00 PM at Colquitt Funeral Home.
Mr. Kelley was born and raised in Baker County. After graduating high school he attended sheet metal fabrication school in College Park, GA, and was employed by the Glen L. Martin Co., an aircraft manufacturer in Baltimore, MD. Following Pearl Harbor he was inducted into the US Navy and served aboard the tanker ship USS Yahara in the Pacific during World War II. Honorably discharged from Military Service, he worked in auto mechanics in Bainbridge, GA, before moving to Warner Robins, GA, to work at Robins Air Force Base as a sheet metal specialist for 30 years. After his retirement in 1975, he lived at Holly Isles on Lake Seminole and enjoyed fishing and the camaraderie with his neighbors there. After residing at Lake Seminole for 23 years, he moved back to the home-place where he lived until his death. He was a member of Notchaway Baptist Church and enjoyed hosting the preparation of the barbecue for the annual Homecoming event for many years.
Mr. Kelley is survived by two sisters, Laverne Kelley Donley and Jeanette Kelley McDaniel both of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers, Andrew Lee Kelley of Baker County, GA, and Amos Kelley of Warner Robins, GA; and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Jessie J. Kelley and Ona Moore Kelley and two brothers, Howard Kelley of Lake Seminole, GA, and J.E. Kelley of Bainbridge, GA.

Mrs. Simpson was of the Methodist faith and a homemaker.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of Macedonia Free Will Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer for many years, and was the adult sunday school teacher. She volunteered many hours for the American Heart Association and served on the Miller County Library Board. Mrs. Phillips worked for Southeastern Underwriters Association in Atlanta, GA, Southern Airwarys School of Bainbridge, GA, cashier for Citizens Bank of Colquitt, and Peoples Bank where she also served as Vice President. After retirement, she worked as receptionist for Farmers Fertilizer of Colquitt, GA.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Phillips, Sr. of Damascus, GA; two sons, Ken (Linda Gail) Phillips of Colquitt, GA, and Guerry (Janice) Phillips of Dawson, GA; one daughter, Dawn Shepard of Colquitt, GA; nine grandchildren, Trey Phillips, Kerri Leigh Phillips, Kenny Rogers Phillips, Justin Ashley Phillips, Guerry Brandon Phillips, Cayce Phillips, Trevor Phillips, Brittany Dawn Shepard, and Stephen Blake Shepard; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Ethlyn (Lawrence) West of Hartsfield, GA, Joan (Ben) Long of Bainbridge, GA, and Dianne Gibson of Ocilla, GA; and a large number of nieces and nephews. Mrs White was a homemaker and a member of First Church of God in Bainbridge. Mrs Inez was a woman who loved the Lord.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Christopher Piniella, Rochelle Kimbrel, Priscella Cram, Delilah Hayes, Holly Alley and five great grandchildren, her loving care givers Ocie and C D Thompson of Colquitt and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Buitler and Eddie Butler and one daughter, Christine Piniella.
